Woodland Tomato Festival

August 8, 2015 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Celebrating the Yolo County tomato, the Woodland Tomato Festival is fun, free, and open to the public. Held annually on Main Street in Downtown Historic Woodland, just 25 minutes from Sacramento and close to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Who has the best Salsa in town? Come vote for the best restaurant Salsa at the Woodland Tomato Festival! Audience participation invited! Special appearances by Tommy Tomato!

The tomato is inspiration for an “Iron Chef” style cooking competition between local chefs. With esteemed guest judges, participating chefs are challenged to come up with their most creative tomato cuisine. Not far from transportation hubs at Davis, Vacaville, Fairfield, and Sacramento, the Woodland Tomato Festival is an easy day-trip with something for everyone!

Yolo County Master Gardeners will offer a free tomato tasting of some 30 varieties of heirloom and hybrid tomatoes grown by both the Master Gardeners and growers selling tomatoes at the market. Stop by the tasting tables from 9:00 a.m. to noon and help select the best tasting tomatoes grown in Yolo County. Also bring your tomato growing questions as well as other gardening questions to our information booth.
