Although it is called a pressure canner and may have a canner button on the panel, none of the electric pressure canners have been tested by the USDA and most canners recommend against canning in an InstaPot or a Power XL Canner. The so called “Rebel Canners” swear by the and generally swear at the USDA. Some canners do swear by the newer electric pressure canners made by Nesco,  Presto or Cary, but although they have been tested by the manufacturers, they have not been tested by an outside entity or the USDA or a University Extension Office as of 2020 that I have discovered.

Like some canners say, your kitchen, your rules. But, please don’t share your pressure canned goods with me nless it was canned in a traditional canner with a weighted guage. I would appreciate the extra jar, but would not take the chance of eating it or sharing it with my family. Obviously I am not a Rebel Canner. I was curious about how to adjust the temperature on this canner.
