DESCRIPTION:National Night Out is on the first Tuesday in August. It is a night where neighbors come together for a party and to show criminals that they do not belong in Elk Grove. Most neighborhoods get together from around 5-9 PM\, and either meet at a front yard\, a cul de sac\, or even a nearby park. What you do is entirely up to you. You are not required to register with the PD (and there is no fee to register)\, however\, if you would like a visit from fire or police personnel then you do need to register. \nThe form is attached to this post\, or you can go to www.elkgrovepd.org\, then go to the “Community” tab and select “National Night Out”. Please get the forms back by July 15. The form can be mailed\, dropped off\, emailed\, or you can just email us the information. Our email address is CrimePrevention@ElkGrovePD.org. \nIf you want specific people or equipment\, please note that (ie K9\, Motorcycle\, Fire Engine\, etc). The police and fire departments will try to make it to any parties which invite us\, but please realize there are a lot of parties\, and the officers and firefighters are all on duty\, so they have to respond to calls as well. We cannot make any promises about them actually coming to your party\, but we will try. \n
