Pinkerton in the Park

Join with the Elk Grove Historical Society and the Chamber of Commerce celebrate Elk Grove’s History

This day starts off Elk Grove History Week. The day’s goal is to honor our local historian Elizabeth Pinkerton and to promote the history of our community. Events take place from 10:30 to 2:00 and involve several activities.

Starting at 11:00 there will be a newly furbished jail ribbon cutting, followed by historical period activities for the kids and families. The children will be issued a passport at the museum to various stations i.e. Butter making, handkerchief dolls, clothes washing with wash board and tub, canning lid punching ornament, veg/fruit printing on brown paper, Yarn”s God Eye. Also games will be available – Stilts, hoops, marbles, jacks, and jump rope.

Followed by the Pinkerton Picnic in the Park with more activities to participate or watch, i.e. Tug-a-war, sack races, beanbag toss, etc.

In Elk Grove Regional Park, at the west entrance at 9941 East Stockton you will find Heritage Park behind the Elk Grove House and Stage Stop Museum. There is a small parking lot just within the entrance to Elk Grove Regional Park.
